Hazwoper Training
The basic requirements of OSHA HAZWOPER (29 CFR 1910.120) include the provision that all employees who work in or where there is a potential for an uncontrolled release of hazardous materials have the training to recognize that an emergency situation exists and to initiate emergency response procedures. This is the basic training requirement for professionals in hazardous waste emergency response and environmental remediation fields as well as for construction crews working at a site of known or suspected hazardous waste. Industrial facilities that have the potential for an emergency to occur due to an uncontrolled release of hazardous substances, hazardous raw materials, hazardous materials or waste storage are required to provide HAZWOPER training. These facility employees may also need training as required by the EPA Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) Part 265 when hazardous materials are stored or used.
