OUTREACH CONSTRUCTION SAFETY TRAINING

This course is designed to satisfy requirements under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration's (OSHA) 29 CFR 1910.120 regulation for individuals involved in hazardous waste operations and emergency response. Individuals who fall under the requirements for this training include:

GENERAL INDUSTRY

  1. Upon completion, students will be able to locate and implement OSHA policies and procedures related to topics that apply to General Industry regulations (29 CFR 1910).

  2. Identify common OSHA violations in the workplace, describe appropriate abatement procedures per safety issue, and apply appropriate course techniques to existing safety and health programs.

Topics include:

  1. OSHA Act of 1970
  2. Inspections, Citations and Proposed Penalties
  3. Abatement Techniques
  4. Internal Training Procedures
  5. Walking and Working Surfaces
  6. Machine Guarding
  7. OSHA Record Keeping
  8. Audit Procedures
  9. Industrial Hygiene
  10. Lockout/Tagout
  11. Confined Space

CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY

  1. Upon completion, students will be able to locate and implement OSHA policies and procedures related to topics that apply to Construction (29 CFR 1926).

  2. Describe and implement new construction safety techniques, resource materials.

  3. Ability to apply all applicable construction regulations.

  • Electrical
  • Welding
  • Excavations
  • Fall Protection
  • Multi-Employer Work Site Policies
  • Fire Protection
  • Motor Vehicles
  • Overhead Cranes

In approximately 4-6 weeks after successful completion of the course the OSHA Institute for Outreach Training will send the student a card approving their level of training.

30-Hour Courses
Duration: Four 8 hour days

10-Hour Courses
Duration: One 10 hour day
