INCIDENT COMMAND INITIAL TRAINING

This course satisfies requirements under the Occupational Safety and Health Administration’s 29 CFR 1910.120 (q)(6)(ii) regulation. Individuals who fall under the requirements for this training include:

  1. Personnel, who will assume control at an incident scene beyond the first responder, operations level, and are able to effectively run the emergency response procedure. This individual must be able to manage people effectively and use every power and responsibility within their means to control the situation.

Topics include:

  • Hazard Communication
  • Personal Protective Equipment
  • Spill Prevention, Containment, and Control
  • Decontamination Procedures
  • Risks to Employees Working in Emergency Waste Sites
  • Understanding the Local Emergency Response Plan and Coordinating with Local, State, and Federal Emergency Agencies (dealing with OSHA)
  • Site-Specific Requirements such as Standard Operating Procedures, Emergency Response, and Site Safety Plans
  • HAZOPOLY – The Experience

This course will offer limited hands-on components with tabletop scenarios and problem solving exercises.

Duration: Three 8 hour days

1 Year Refresher Required
